Location: Sugar Bowl
Date: 4/2/2010
Conditions: Wind Blown
Lots of powder all over the mountain. Unfortunately, severely high winds had blown most of it into a weird punchy pack. The first runs of the day were all on untracked which was nice. I took a lesson in the afternoon and hit Strawberry fields and some other fun stuff off of Disney. Summit was closed all day.

2008/2009 Ski Season: Day5
Sugar Bowl
We got to Sugar Bowl at 9:00 AM on the button on the Bay Area Ski Bus. Tahoe in general has been hammered by storms throughout the past week. Sugar Bowl got probably 2 feet of fresh since Christmas.
I took one quick run on the Judah lift which served a groomer/terrain park.
We spent the morning on the White Pine lift teaching a new skier how to ski for the first time. The sides of the trail were 1-2 feet of fresh while the run itself was all groomed for the beginners.
The best skiing of the day was on the Disney side of the mountain. Off the Disney Express, the Crow's Traverse gave access to Strawberry field which was tree runs jammed with fresh powder.
Lines were pretty short, the weather was great, and we got a trace amount of snow to boot.
Great day at Sugar Bowl!

2008 Ski Season: Day 14

Location: Sugar Bowl
Conditions: Spring
Today was a hot one. I bet it got up to 65 degrees by noon. The morning was awesome with groomers abound and few people on the mountain. We hit some black diamonds after lunch and had fun off the Disney peak. The ski team was out in hula themed outfits with skirts and even a few coconut tops. Somehow it is an elicit thrill to be able to ski when it is so warm out.
I talk to a patroller on a lift up who told me Sugar Bowl planned to stay open until April 27. I suppose there is a possibility to go back there this season but I really look forward to getting there next season on a powder day. It is a cool mountain and I'd like to check the rest of it out under better conditions.
